I am using a 4G ipod with a 2.6.13 kernel. The ipod was formatted using windows itunes and has a fat43 filesystem. When I plug in my ipod, I get the follow in my dmesg:

Code:

Everytime I plug in the ipod I get the Buffer I/O errors. The ipod seems to work fine. What do these errors mean and should I be concern?

I have followed the howtos on the gentoo wiki regarding the iPod and the iPod shuffle.

CONFIG_EFI_PARTITION is disabled in my kernel.

Make sure you don't have the Low Performance USB Driver installed, as described in: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-378179.html

The Low Performance USB Driver is not selected in the kernel. Any other ideas?
