I am getting some errors suddenly when loading up Gnome 2.10.2:
Window List quit unexpectedly
Workspace Switcher quit unexpectedly
If I click reload, these things load up just fine. I only have a problem on startup. Any ideas on what might be causing this? |

I have the exact same problem, and its happening on multiple machines. Any hints would be most welcome.
Here's my .xsession-errors if that helps, unfortunately I don't see anything about "Window List" or "Workspace Switcher":

Same problem here. Everytime I start gnome I get three popups stating
"Show Desktop" quit unexpectedly.
"Window List" quit unexpectedly.
"Workspace switcher" quit unexpectedly.
I use gnome-2.10.2, gnome-panel-2.10.2, gnome-session-2.10.0-r3.
I startup gdesklest and gkrellm2 in my gnome session.
regards

Ditto here...annoying....wish I could

I'm surprised there's only one thread in the forums (that I could find, anyway) relating to this problem. I recently decided to get my laptop and workstation up to date. Everything went well, except that "Show Desktop", "Window List", and "Workspace Switcher" all die immediately on logging in (on both machines). Clicking the reload button for each does restore all three programs...until next time I log on.
:!:An interesting, seemingly related side-effect is that my "Notification Area" triples in size when this happens. It actually looks like it has multiplied into three notification areas, but right-clicking and choosing "Remove from Panel" removes them all simultaneously.
I'm running Gnome 2.10.2 (with, of course gnome-panel 2.10.2). |
