I just got everything installed, and now I want to test it out, but after configuring Xorg, I get this error:

Code:

(==) Log file: "/var/log/Xorg.0.log", Time:Sun Nov  6 07:24:46 2005
(==) Using  config file: "/etc/X11/xorg.conf"
Duplicate symbol __i686.get_pc_thunk.bx in /usr/lib/modules/fonts/libbitmap.a:bitmapmod.o
Also  defined in /usr/lib/modules/fonts/libbitmap.a

Fatal server error:
Module load failure

Please consult the The X.Org Foundation Support
               at http://wiki.X.Org
    for help.
Please also check the log file at "/var/log/Xorg.0.log" for additional information.

XIO:     fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0"
            after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

The last time I used gentoo was with XFree86, and I don't recall this ever happening to me then. I just want to get back into the wonderful world of linux :) Any help on what I can do to fix this would be greatly appreciated.[/code]

Zerodark,

You need to add
Code:
dlloader
to your use flags and rebuild xorg.
The alternative is to remove
Code:
hardened
from your use flags and rebuild xorg.
Whatever you decide
Code:
emerge world -N
will rebuild everything that uses the changed use flags.

OK. I tried both of your alternatives, and did the emerge world -N and I still have the same problem. I tried restarting X and I got the exact same error.
