|

Hi,
I know that gentoo distros come with its own kernel package like, 2.6.11-gentoo etc. I need to actually try a generic 2.6.9 vanilla kernel with my system. I would like to know, is there actually anything that I need to consider that are gentoo-specific? Does the gentoo specific patches do anything that are required by the distro, or would a vanilla kernel just work fine?
Thanks,
Bahadir |

"etcat -v vanilla-sources" doesn't contain 2.6.9 - I assume it has a bad problem or security flaw.
See the homepage for gentoo-sources, and look in /usr/portage/sys-kernel/gentoo-sources, to see what patches it contains. _________________ Improve your font rendering and ALSA sound |
