Hello, Not sure if this post should be here or in Desktops but, oh well
My problem is that I am constantly getting erros when trying to compile some kde components. KDEMultimedia, and KDEGames are the two crashing so far.
The error I get with kdemultimedia is:
!!! ERROR: kde-base/kdemultimedia-3.1 failed.
!!! Function kde_src_compile, Line 117, Exitcode 2
!!! died running emake, kde_src_compile:make
Above that it gives a bunch or errors that look like:
/usr/lib/libvorbis.so: undefined reference to 'xmms_cfg_open_file'
at the beginning of this emerge, it listed a few options that it appeared to be using, so I found out how to get rid of oggvorbis, but that didn't help the problem
Anyone have any Ideas? I do have xmms installed. There were no errors with that, and I do have the latest version of gcc installed as well. This is a fresh system.
Thank you for you help... I'll be waiting
Mike
PS: If you need anymore info, please ask.. I'll check often for replies |

ok, I just recompiled xmms (with -oggvorbis in make.conf) then I tried kdemultimedia again, and all the errors regarding xmms and missing reference files are not present anymore... however, not I have the error:
libtool: link: cannot find the library '/usr/lib/libvorbis.la'
So, I guess I'm getting closer! Does anyone know how I can build that library?
Thanks,
Mike |

I guess try emerge'ing libvorbis first. I'd be suprised if it's somehow missing that dependency though, but you never know. |

You might try changeing your USE to " -oggvorbis " Then emerge unmerge oggvorbis. Them "emerge kde " from the start particularly the libs.

I had to remove the -r1 release and drop back to the previous release before I could get kdeaddons merged. |
