I run folding on my rigs and use the screen program so I can detach and not have to stop it. I have three rigs currently. On my main rig, AMD 2500+ with 1Gb of ram, screen is using a huge amount of CPU time. This is what top was showning:

I do update each night but my other rigs are doing fine. Screen uses only a 1 or 2% like it should. My other two rigs are a AMD 800MHz and a Compaq Quad 200MHz CPU rig. They all have the same version of screen.
I also copied the config file from one of the others machines to my main rig and it still does the same thing. I guess it is not the config file either. Just for good measure, here is my emerge info:

This just started in that last day or so. If you need more info, let me know, I'll post it.
Oh, how do I find out what was the last stable version of screen? I would like to back up a version and see if that helps. May even remove/rename the config and start out fresh.
Thanks much for the help. I need to get my folding back running.

OK. This was not a screen problem, I didn't think it was either since it worked with everything else. It did appear to be a folding problem. I used finstall to install folding and I basically deleted the foldingathome directory and reinstalled folding. Now it works.
I did have it to do it one more time after the new install. I stopped folding and restarted it and it has not done it since. I scratched my head too.
Later
I'm typing this in a fresh install. KDE is a LOT faster to load now. _________________ My rig: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P mobo, AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core CPU, ZALMAN CNPS10X Performa CPU cooler,
