Bonjour

je suis nouveau pour gentoo et je souhaite vivement la garder comme linux definitif, mais grub ne veut pas demarer sur gentoo mais demarre bien sur xp :s

il me fait une erreur 15 ou il trouve pas le kernel ...

j'ai utilisé genkernel, donc en grub ( si je me souvien bien)

Title GNU/Linux
root (hd0,3)
kernel /kernel-genkernel-2.6.12-gentoo-r6 root=/dev/hda4

la je ne voit pas l'erreur :(

As tu une partition boot ? car la tu vas chercher le kernel dans /kernel-genkernel-2.6.12-gentoo-r6

Non je n'ai pas fait de partition boot
hda1 => Xp
hda3 => partage fat
hda4 => / (le tout)
hda5 => swap

mais quand t'es dans le chroot, ton kernel est bien dans /boot/kernel-genkernel-2.6.12-gentoo-r6 ?

si oui, dans grub.conf mets kernel /boot/kernel-genkernel-2.6.12-gentoo-r6 root=/dev/hda4 et non kernel /kernel-genkernel-2.6.12-gentoo-r6 root=/dev/hda4

Et meme dans le cas ou tu avais une partoche boot, ca ne coute rien de mettre /boot/.... car dans /boot, ya un lien boot -> .

oui il est bien dans le dossier /boot/
je vais redemarer sur slax usb et changer ce que tu ma dit ;)

il trouve bien le kernel , par la suite il trouve pas le root device:

je remodifie le grub.conf pour cela:
# For booting GNU/Linux
title GNU/Linux
root (hd0,3)
kernel /boot/kernel-genkernel-x86-2.6.12-gentoo-r6 root=/dev/hda4
initrd /boot/initramfs-genkernel-x86-2.6.12-gentoo-r6

Il ne trouve pas le root device et me met un prompt boot: et la je tape: /dev/hda4 et il continue a charger donc je ne voit pas l'erreur pourquoi il veut pas faire le: root=/dev/hda4

dans le message au dessus, c'est real_root et non real_boot me semble-t-il !
