Emerge xorg-x11-6.8.99 ?

if i add this to package.keywords it will only install 6.8.2-r6 but if i add it to package.unmask then it tries to install 7.0
and if i leave it out of package.keywords then it still tries to install 7.0 but failes as its blocked

Is there a way i can set it to install this particular version, i did a emerge /usr/portage/x11-base/xorg-x11-6.8.99 just to get it installed and it worked fine,
but now wanting to do and update world it will change the version

any ideas?

Specify the version in both package.unmask and package.keywords, for example "=x11-base/xorg-x11-6.8.99" or whatever it is. You may want to take a look to the relevant section of the handbook. All this thing are better explained there.
