/root/matlab/Matlab_Release_14_SP2(7.0.4)_Linux_Mac_CD1/update/install/mapname.s': line 16: `    case "$TMW_CD_FORMAT" in
./install: line 1219: .: /root/matlab/Matlab_Release_14_SP2(7.0.4)_Linux_Mac_CD1/update/install/: is a directory

What shell do you use? I do not recall how the manual says the install script should be excecuted but my guess is its `sh install`. You can always check with `file install`what it tells you.
