Hi.
I installed LIRC yesterday and noticed the CPU usage is quite high. lirc_dev uses up about 9.7% of my Athlon XP 2800+ CPU. Is that normal? I used to use LIRC on older computers, and I had never noticed such a thing...
It's LIRC v0.7.0-r1
and my kernel is:
> cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.6.12-gentoo-r6 (root@slackware) (gcc version 3.3.5-20050130 (Gentoo 3.3.5.20050130-r1, ssp-3.3.5.20050130-1, pie-8.7.7.1)) #9 Mon Jul 25 22:59:22 CEST 2005
Any idea?
Pierric. |

It seems that the culprit is irexec... when I kill it, the CPU usage drops to near zero. But if I start it again... however according to "top", it is lirc_dev, the kernel module, which consumes that much CPU. I'd appreciate any help on this. |
