Hi!
I just tried to install quake3, using this guide: http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/wfsection/article.php?articleid=30
when i start the game, this message occurs:
Code: |

couldn't exec q3config.cfg
couldn't exec autoexec.cfg
Hunk_Clear: reset the hunk ok

You are using software Mesa (no hardware acceleration)!

If this is intentional, add
"+set r_allowSoftwareGL 1"
to the command line when starting the game.

my fglrxinfo shows this:
Code: |
display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.2.1)

when i add the recommended "+set r_allowSoftwareGL 1", the screen gets dark and i have to kill my x with ctrl+alt+backspace.
I hope you can help me
thanks in advance _________________ Brainfuck treats all characters but +-<>[],. as comments so no special syntax for a comment is needed. |

Ehh... why are you using software rendering?
opengl-update ati
Restart X... then see if you aren't seeing ATI as your opengl provider instead of mesa... _________________ Ex-Gentoo Developer
