I've been using stable versions sys-kernel/gentoo-source and media-video/nvidia-kernel for quite a while now, and suspend to RAM (ACPI) has worked flawlessly for me (over many kernel releases).
After the latest kernel update, however, a suspend no longer succeeds. The system tries to go down, but then apparently gets a veto from the nvidia driver (/var/log/messages):
Code: | Nov 13 16:36:54 myhost NVRM: ACPI: unsupported event: 2
Nov 13 16:36:54 myhost Could not suspend device 0000:01:00.0: error -1 |
I've seen similar messages in earlier versions of the nvidia driver that did not yet support ACPI suspend. But as stated above, the current stable version has been doing fine here for months. Upgrading to the ~x86 version of the driver, by the way, did not change anything.
Laptop is a Dell Latitude D800 with a GeForce FX Go5200. |

Edit /usr/src/linux/include/linux/pm.h on Line 214, and change "#define PM_EVENT_SUSPEND 2" to "#define PM_EVENT_SUSPEND 3". _________________ newbie |
