1) In your xorg conf some section is trying to load a module that should have been defined. If you dont need it, comment out the line that loads it.

2 & 3) what is your display and graphics card? Sounds like you have not defined modes for your display. 2 and 3 are related.

did you run all the standard xorg config utils?

You should paste what's in your xorg.conf file here.
/etc/X11/xorg.conf

try running xorgconfig. it is usually good at getting you at least running. once that works you can tweak it from there to get 3d accel and other stuff and then when something breaks you know where it was.

So... wait, what's the problem? You get those error messages when you "startx" but you said you ran xorgconfig. How did that go? What is the problem with being out of space?

When you emerge stuff, the downloaded files go into /etc/portage/distfiles/. The only real advantage of holding onto this stuff is for things which are large downloads (since it will save bandwidth as well as download time before installation or compilation) So, for the most part, you can remove pretty much everything in that folder. I usually run:
Code:
rm /etc/portage/distfiles/*

It will complain about not being able to remove the directory 'cvs' but that is fine, leave that there.
This should free up a bit o' space :)
