Couple of Media related problems.

Well I got the sound working, yay!

So now onward to another couple of problems. The first being XMMS will not play any .MP3s. I go to open a sound from it, and it brings up the open dialog box again. :evil:

Lastly My DVD drive is not recognized at all. I have my CD-RW available, and I know when Gentoo first booted, it listed my DVD drive as a CD-Rom, but why is it not available? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

Right-click in xmms opens a menu, take options->preferences.
In the first Tab of the preferences window you should have a list of input plugins. Have a look to the config of CD Audio and MPEG 123.
