I've just realized that every time I use Mozilla browser, that there's one Zombie of netstat with it.(It's also in my laptop with firefox)
Code: | 29777 29756 blaa 18 0 0 0 0 Z 0.0 0.0 0:00.00 [netstat] <defunct>
29756 29742 blaa 16 0 114m 48m 20m S 0.3 13.0 8:59.90 /usr/lib/mozilla/mozilla-bin
29742 29612 blaa 16 0 2704 1240 972 S 0.0 0.3 0:00.02 /bin/bash /usr/libexec/mozilla-launcher
29612 1 blaa 16 0 24284 10m 8312 S 0.0 2.8 0:00.56 kdeinit Running... |
So why this dead-alive is haunting me ?
It doesn't do anything bad, but still it's not nice to see some rotten corpse wondering around my computers ?
Is there the solution to slain that zombie totally (call the exorcist) ? It's not a really big problem, cause it's killed when I stop using mozilla (or kill it too )

edit: I'll add [Solved] to this thread, cause it isn't really big problem & it goes away when I quit this mozilla session. But if someone know's where's the problem, please be my quest _________________ 1st use 'Search' & lastly add [Solved] to
the subject of your first post in the thread. |

Hi,
got the same problem, unfortunately that zombie slows down my system after a while.
Even a simple xterm takes several seconds to show up (System is a AMD 2800+, 1GB RAM).
Also sometimes it can't be killed...
Is this a bug? |

I've got the same problem, with all applications running in KDE - and it not depends on method (from term or launching from menu/icon).
Most strange for me is that when I logout from KDE, there is no zombies - so there is no need to kill them all (... ahh, Metallica ... ).
Surely, this slows down system - but only in KDE as I've noticed. There is no such a problems in GNOME, Enlightenement etc. So I really don't know what to do. Where to start for source of troubles? |
