Trying to emerge system I got this message on a powerbook 5,8 -10.4.3:

In my portage tree iputils is not masked for any architecture.
KEYWORDS="alpha amd64 arm hppa ia64 m68k mips ppc ppc64 s390 sh sparc x86"

according to http://packages.gentoo.org iputils is masked for "ppc macos" architectur...

| From what I can see, iputils is ping, ping6 and racoon. All of these come on with osx. Is there an advantage in installing iputils? |

Just tested out gentoo with ppc-macos. I see what you meant. From this post it shows how to get around the problem, but I don't think it is worth the effort yet. There are still too many flaws.

I recall trying this out months ago, and there does not appear to be much change. |
