I just noticed that in Gnome, the calendar shows the week starting on Saturday. I am talking about the calendar that pops up in the desktop when you click o n the data and time. It used to start on Sunday. How do I change it back?

Thanks

I filed bug 108617 on this issue, which hasn't been resolved yet. There's a partial workaround which changes the first day from Saturday to Monday (still not my preference, but at least not nonsensical), which works if you're using US English: create a file in /etc/env.d such as 99local, with this line:
Code:
LC_ALL=en_US

After a reboot your calendar will display with Monday as first day of the week. At least until this is fixed, perhaps upstream, this is the best I can offer.

Thanks.

Is there anyway to update this without a reboot?

You could try env-update, which I believe will re-read all the variables declared in /etc/env.d, then restart Gnome and see if the change has been picked up.
