|
|
I'm tryign to patch the kernel with the grsecurity, but I haven't done much installing and I can't seem to find the kernel to patch! rofl...
also, my kernel is currently 2.6.12-gentoo-r9, but I have a 2.6.13-gentoo-r2 from the emerge updates, How do I update to my newest kernel, (copy old configs too, I did the stage1 install with nptl threading support and all that fun stuff...) and then how do I add in my nice lil patch (I think I have to add a nvidia patch too everytime a new kernel is used, right? I run fluxbox on xorg with nvidia drivers...)
Well, any help is greatly appreciated, thanks. _________________ Gentoomania! Support the Open Source!

I'll throw you a bone, forget kernel patch, too much hassle.
do:
emerge hardened-sources
and you'll magically get a gentoo kernel that actually works and has the patch in it. much easier. then just configure and compile as normal (and don't forget to enable the new grsec and pax options!) |
