Whenever I boot the kernel I made for Gentoo, it says "Sync Out of Range," but when I use genkernel (which I don't want to waste my time with) or boot from a liveCD it works just fine. It's really starting to piss me off! I'm running an x86 architecture with gentoo-sources 2.6.14-r2. Does anyone know what's wrong or what I need to change?

Can you please post your grub.conf (or lilo.conf)? _________________ gentoo.ro |

I don't see anything wrong! what's happening!? I really don't want to use SuSE as my main distro anymore because the full version isn't free like it used to be, and I like gentoo a lot! So, help me out here!
Graphics Card:
ATI Radeon 7200
I compiled old and new ATI Radeon drivers into the kernel already.
Everything else is default for a Compaq Deskpro EN 866 model computer, aside from the fact that I have much more memory and 2 harddrives. |

Anybody there? I still need some help. I'm not sure what information you need, so if you could tell me if I'm missing anything, I'd be greatful. I basically have everything working accept for the monitor and KDE and Gnome. And OpenOffice and Firefox. Because I can't install them without a monitor. Which sucks. |

In order to use the vesafb-tng driver, you have to compile only that driver. So disable anyother graphics driver other than vesafb, under Device Devices ---> Graphics Support. _________________ gentoo.ro |

It worked. Awesome. Too bad I mistakenly used the Graphical Installer tool to start over again. |
