I was told that this NIC would finaly work in the 2.6.13 kernel, for safety I waited until the 2.6.14-r2 was stable , installed it and set this for my network drivers:

lspci detects teh card in detail as it should, but the network service fails to run dhcpcd
the following commands result in a host not found:

ifconfig eth0 10.0.0.39
route add default gw 10.0.0.138
# route displays lo and 2 eth0 entries with some delay
ping gentoo.org
#here comes the host not found

with the 2.6.11, 2.6.12 kernel in the past I tried this too , I waited many months for this new kernel and then got yet another dissappointment...
What am I doing wrong here? of is it still not fixed?
the problem is when I do a search on USR 997902 I get so little results or information, and most have few to none replies...are there so few people that have such a card then?

edit: for people having the same problems, do not use gentoo-sources
In the vanilla-sources-2.6.14.2 it does work 
(and for some reason I tihnk my system runs faster too :p )
