I have done every things that sass in this guide:
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_fbsplash#Manual_Compilation
And I toke option 1 (to build in the splash into the kernel) with theme: livecd-2005.1
# rm -iv /usr/src/linux/usr/initramfs_data.cpio.gz
# splash_geninitramfs -v -g /usr/src/linux/usr/initramfs_data.cpio.gz -r 1280x1024 livecd-2005.1
And this is what hapens then I boot up my system:
Code: | Can't open /dev/fb0 or /dev/fb/0
failed to configure resolution and icon positioning
Failed to open /dev/fb0 or /devfb0 for reading.
Can't open config file /etc/splash/livecd-2005.1/0x0.cfg.
Failed to load image (null).
Can't open /dev/fb0 or /dev/fb/0
cat: /etc/splash/livecd-2005.1/.cfg: No such file or directory |
My lilo.conf:
Code: | boot = /dev/sda
prompt
map=/boot/map
timeout = 50
default = winxp
image = /boot/bzImage
label=gentoo
root = /dev/sda4
append="video=vesafb:1280x1024-32@60,mtrr,ywrap
splash=silent,fadein,theme:livecd-2005.1 quiet CONSOLE=/dev/tty1"
read-only
other = /dev/sda1
label = winxp
table = /dev/sda |
With all this information, is there some one that can tell me what the problem is? |

I think it is easier to use a stand-alone iitrd rather than compiling it into the kernel, (but thats my oppinion)
are you able to boot at all? if you dont does it work if you remove everything about the splash and framebuffer?? (splash=... and video=...)
It looks like you have configured something wrong anyway...
which fb are you using? |
