Dopo aver completato l'installazione della gentto partendo dallo stage 1,provo ad avviarla e proprio all'avvio mi da questo errore: the kernel has benn compiled without devfs support etc.. etc...
Poi se provo a fare qualsiasi cosa mi avvisa che il filisystem è di sola lettura (la root), la cosa mi sembra abbastanza strana e non riesco a capirla.
Spero qualcuno di voi ne sappia qualcosa

Controlla la configurazione del tuo kernel: sotto File Systems devi attivare "/dev file system support".
Se non c'è, assicurati di aver attivato Code maturity level options --->[*] Prompt for development and/or incomplete code/drivers.
Per quanto riguarda la partizione root, che FS usi, e puoi postare fstab?

uso reiserFS,ed ecco l'fstab (forse è proprio qui che sbaglio)
/dev/hda1 / reiserfs dafaults 1 1

"dafaults"?
Inoltre le ultime due opzioni dovrebbero essere "0 0"

Non so per ReiserFS ma io uso XFS (un altro journaled) e comunque non ho problemi. Infatti credo che il tuo problema parte da un "dafaults" che dovrebbe essere scritto come "defaults": un banalissimo errore ortografico.

si ma infatti ho corretto, è come dici te un "banale errore" ; però dopo aver corretto,aggiunto al kernel il supporto per devfs ancora non riesco ad usare gentoo,non so perchè ma all'avvio dice sempre che la root è un filesystem di sola lettura

Bahhh, non so che dirti....
E' proprio strano. Se fstab chiede rw, non capisco perche "/" rimane in read-only dopo il boot.

non so,ma a me sembra proprio che non veda tutte le configurazioni che ho fatto in /etc (forse dico una cazzata ma mi sembra così), per esempio non cambia neanche la mappatura della tastiera anche se io ho modificato l' rc.conf

Nella guida c'e' scritto che il supporto a /dev filesystem serve ... cmq hai detto che c'e'

Usi ReiserFS per la partizione di boot?! allora devi specificare l'ozione notail..per quella di root ti conviene usare l'opzione notail per le performance
Cmq ti consiglio di leggere http://www.gentoo.org/doc/it/gentoo-x86-install.xml la parte di configurazione di /etc/fstab cosi' ci leviamo qualche dubbio (anche io ho la partizione root ReiserFS..mai usato, ho voluto provare per il discorso dell'efficenza...tu che mi dici?)

Hai incluso il supporto reiserfs nel kernel?
