gentoo-sources-2.6.14-r2 slows fb console switching

I'm using kernel, compiled from gentoo-sources-2.6.13-r5 using framebuffer consoles and splashutils on my box with embedded i845 Intel graphics controller. All clear! Now, new portages brings update for gentoo-sources, now it gentoo-sources-2.6.14-r2, same .config, same lilo.conf options, but... Switching between consoles by Alt+F1, Alt+F2 etc takes 3-4 seconds. On 2.6.13-r5 it takes milliseconds. What's wrong with 2.6.14? I repeat - .config is the same...
