I use amsn at the moment and find it kinda annoying having to have it open on the task bar all the time. Can it be docked into the tray?

Grab the cvs version then ./configure, make, /amsn and it will work |

Yup.
"Tools" --> "Docking" --> "FreeDesktop (KDE3/Gnome2)". Tick it and aMSN shall be docked at once.

i can dock, but i cant close the main window on the task bar without the prog closing.... |
