I want to switch between Finnish keyboard layout and Russian non-phonetic keyboard layout in X. I mainly use Finnish layout so I have "fi" in xorg.conf and I've tried using scim to be able to switch to Russian layout when I need to but I just don't like the phonetic layout scim and uim use. How about the alternatives? xmodmap? xruskb? Any recommendations on what to do? |

You could take a look at /etc/X11/xkb/README.config Section 2.2 |

Hey thanks! I read one topic on this but a fellow in that topic had some problem with this method so I pessimistically thought it wouldn't work even without testing. I'll test this right away when I get a chance. |
