I was emerging world -e when my ipw2200 (wifi card) first broke.
When I compile my kernel now, I get tons of compile errors.

Heres the big question: When I run modules-rebuild rebuild (some error output pointed me to that), it emerges ieee80211 and ipw2200. When I run it again, it emerges it again. Should it?

Just a refresh and a clarification and an update:

I need to know if "modules-rebuild rebuild", when executed twice, ought to do the same exact thing twice.

The "known-working" kernel, that happened to break, got fixed with the slew of commands I dished out. But new kernels don't compile with the ieee80211 and ipw2200 parts.

did you read the error messages? make sure that the modules aren't compiled into the kernel in the menuconfig, and make sure the right categories are compiled in. You only need to run
Code:
module-rebuild rebuild
once.

Is anything broken if I run it twice and it runs twice?
