|
|
Hi
After some help from some other forum answers I got my Microsoft Optical Desktop Elite Set (Keyboard/Mouse) up and running. Very Happy.
However it appears that if I leave the computer for a while or the screen saver comes on (after 15mins) the mouse and keyboard have lost their connection.
I can easily reconnect them with a process using "hidd --search".
But is there a way that I can keep the connection alive?? |

You don't buy meat at the backery and so why are you buying hardware from a software company?
You may use kdebluetooth to query the devices periodicly. In "Device Discovery" just create an empty job and connect it to the device. Maybe it will help!

Thanks. I actually saw that option soon after I posted the question.
I set the discovery for every 30secs, however still no luck.
If I dont use the mouse for a short period of time, it often disconnects. |

I don't mean to hiack this, but I am having similar trouble. I have a BT mouse that has been working for a year, I can't remember changing anything just the daily -uvDa world. Suddenly the mouse no longer works. Other BT device work (Dell Axim PDA). The mouse will turn the kdebluetooth dock icon blue and connect then it goes grey again. If i bring up kbluetooth it shows the mouse..?

It now appears that the discovery job I set up in KBluetoothD is not actually running.
The option to "also execute job regularly" is greyed out and I am not able to sellect it.
I presume that I need to use this option to allow the job to keep finding my mouse. How do I activate it?
Sorry Mike, got no ideas about your problem. |

@jadedjay: with "hidd -t X" you can set the idle timeout of the hidd server to X minutes, try a big value. See also "man hidd". Hope this helps.
@ ptfd9100: try delete the content of your /var/lib/bluetooth/[Your Bluetooth Adapters MAC address] and then reconnect. Maybe this works.
Can not give any garantie don't no exactly whats is stored there. But when I used my mouse under windows, I couldn't connect anymore too.
When I deletet the directory, it worked again. |
