Hi!
First under normal workload the system is running fine. But if I use the keyboard(ps2) and the mouse(ps2 or usb) with a lot of traffic (fast mouse movment, a lot of mouse clicks and a lot of keyboard interaction) the mouse cursor freaks out. It jumps over the complete screen and make random mouse clicks. It doesn't matter if I use a usb or ps2 mouse. I tried different kernel (2.6.6, 2.6.13gentoo and 2.6.14gentoo) ... no change. I updated the xserver from stabe ("x86") to unstable ("~x86")... no help. I installed ubuntu on an other partition... no problems at all.
Anybody an idea where the fault may be?
Spes

I took a look in the dmesg output. A really there is a log!
psmouse.c: Wheel Mouse at isa0060/serio1/input0 lost synchronization, throwing 2 bytes away.
But I still not know how to fix that. |

I'm sorry, that was the error I was to ask you and not that one I wrote. I've asked you this because I saw one option in the kernel , especially for this error, but it seems that I can't find it anymore. It was either under acid-sources or nitro-sources, I don't remember exactly. _________________ gentoo.ro |

I just disabled the USB Keyboard and mouse support in the bios. This fixed the problem. |

can you tell me how you did this? I didn't find anything specific to USB mouse/keyboard support in the kernel menu. _________________ Woof, Woof! Add "[solved]" to the title! Woof, Woof! |

Actually, the same thing sometimes happens on my computer. The mouse gets crazy, right/left clicking, highlighting/copying stuff then pasting it in other places. I dont think it's a big problem cause it only happens when the computer's tryign to do too many things.
My mouse is a "generic" PS/2. Are you using a USB mouse or would fixing the bios help me as well? |
