Is it possible to get a pure 64bit system with no 32bit librarys? I tried doing this but I failed installing things like sandbox & glibc. |

Yes, just use the default-linux/amd64/2005.1/no-multilib/ profile. |

So like...
`ln -snf /usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/amd64/2005.1/no-multilib/ /etc/make.profile` ?
And I can safely `rm -rf /lib32` and remove 32bit kernel emulation? |

Yes. That should do exactly that. _________________ RiverRat |

Why would you want to do such a thing? Just to do it? I don't know what purpose such a system would serve.. unless there is something I'm not aware of that would be an advantage to doing it this way(definetly possible, so explain if you would). |

You actually cant, cause linux will run in long compatibility mode anyway and you cant make it switch to long-only mode even if you switch profiles. It just wont run i386 binaries anymore. |
