I'm looking for an XMMS plugin that would save ShoutCast streams. Are there any out there? I tried doing a search in emerge but too many entries came up.

Thanks.

i don't know exactly wat you want but type
Code:
emerge -s xmms >> results.txt
to redirect the output to a file named results.txt which you will be able to browse like you want.
I saw xmms-liveice is maybe what you asked

That's pretty cool, but it's not what I was looking for.

To explain more...

I'd like to save music from an internet radio. The server is a ShoutCast, and the format is MP3. When my Windows was working I used this:
http://streamripper.sourceforge.net/index.php

It's for Winamp and it worked like it is supposed to. It even made single songs (cut the stream when it changed title and started recording again). That's how I got 5GB of techno on my PC (in 192KB/s)... Very nice. :D

I just emerged Kaffeine. I'm pretty sure it can do the above.

I'm still looking for a plugin for XMMS though.

You can use streamtuner, which I believe pulls in streamripper. You can browse streamcast streams with streamripper, have it launch xmms if you want to listen or launch streamripper if you want to record. Both streamtuner and streamripper are in portage.
