Argh. I have some lame-ass ACX100-based wireless card, so I have to use ACX100 to use it. So far so good. The catch is that ACX100 won't compile at all on 2.6 for some reason, complaining about various undefined values and function inlining being "unimplemented." So I have to use 2.4.26. That's okay, I guess.

The catch is that I want to use dm-crypt, and cryptsetup to encrypt some volumes. Now the problem here is that, from what I can tell, that entire thing requires 2.6. There's no crypt target support on the 2.4 kernel config under "multi-device drivers" though there's an entry for dm-crypt. I can get cryptsetup to prompt me for a passphrase, but it bails with "invalid argument" when I try to actually set up a mapper target.

Is there a way to do this with 2.4? Either get the crypto stuff to work with 2.4, or get ACX100 to actually compile with 2.6?

Bump. (Sort of.)

I also came across a Libertas 88w<something> wireless card. Figuring that perhaps I might be able to use this with 2.6, I grabbed ndiswrapper and installed the Winblows drivers on the CD that came with the card. Ndiswrapper can recognize the card, I can set a key, and I can set a channel, but that's it. I get an "invalid argument" if I try to set the ESSID, and it won't scan and find anything. If I could get this to work with 2.6, I'd trash the original ACX card and be done with it.
