nagios: problem with service command

thats my problem my nagios running (almost) normally but the service command says: "It appears as though Nagios is not running, so commands are temporarily unavailable..."
Anybody has some ideas??

I don't know what you mean by service command, but likely you need to adjust your nagios_check_command in /etc/nagios/cgi.cfg. Did you compile nagios with a db (postgres or mysql)? If so, the standard check_nagios won't work for you. You should change your nagios_check_command to /usr/nagios/libexec/check_nagios_db.pl
and see if that helps.
