I've read every thread I can find on scanner problems, but have not found a solution. My Epson scanner was working fine before I emerged gnome 2.12, now I can't run it even as root. I think there must have been a configuration change somewhere, but I can't find it. I've checked all of the recommended files and I think everything is still set up the way it was before. Sane-find-scanner sees the scanner, but scanimage-L does not, even if I run it as root. Does anyone know if Gnome 2.12 changes something that would affect my scanner? Does it change permissions somewhere I don't know about?
(EDIT) I had to add the word epson to my /etc/sane.d/dll.conf file. I guess when I did an etc-update I changed that file without ralizing what I did.
