|
|
I installed the audigy driver (emu10k1) and put it in /etc/modules.autoload.
when i boot gentoo, it gives me an error for loading it ([!]), but when i modprobe emu10k1 it returns no error at all.
anyone had this problem and know how to fix it?
Thanks. |

if you are having the same problem i am (and i'm not really sure, since you didn't post the full error message... grrr...) the problem seems to be that some audigy config file was in /usr/bin when it should be in /usr/sbin or vice versa (im at work, sorry can't verify). I just moved the file to the other directory and the errors stopped. _________________ The only difference between a brown-noser and a shithead is depth perception. |

it didn't give an error message. when I load it outside of the boot, it loads fine. I loaded up Tribes 2 and have only had sound once. not sure whats iong on there. sigh. |

When I had the problem, it was just the first time I loaded it that i got the error, if i did it again it would modprobe just fine. take it out of your modules.autoload and boot up, see if you can start it the first time without an error. my guess is that you can't, and its the same problem I described. _________________ The only difference between a brown-noser and a shithead is depth perception. |
