what do u think about that? is it slow or not? is it correct or no? i dont have right now my another computer no comapre but i was worry that copying sth from cd to hd was taking so long ... so how about yours ibooks?

I'm not a PPC user but from your hdparm output it looks like your cdrw it using mdma (multiword dma) mode ... it might be worth trying to force it to use udma mode 2 ... check out man hdparm for the command, iirc it's -X 69 for mode 2. It looks like your drive supports that mode, so if your mobo does too, it may help.
