Hi all,
I just started to build KDE 3.5. Kdelibs & arts went by fine, but kdebase is giving me problems. After configure finishes, I get this:

The errormessage is even longer than this one here, but I deleted some of the repeating lines in the middle.
If I cd to /var/tmp/.../kdebase-3.5.0/work/kdebase-3.5.0 and run unsermake there by hand, the compilation starts correctly. So the problem seems to relate to something which is done by the ebuild after configure finishes and (unser)make is started.
Please, does anyone have a clue about this and can help me?

unsermake from portage (or anywhere else) doesn't work with "emerge" anymore. I don't think it's worked since 3.3.

thanks for your hint, after unmerging unsermake the compilation went on fine. Sadly on up to the next error:

well i had the same problem and reemerging libxml2 and libxslt seems to have solved it.
(have you by any chance upgraded python recently??? cause i have a feeling that's what brought this up on my system)

Hi,
actually the python update to 2.4.2 came as a requirement for KDE 3.5/kdebase, so I had to upgrade. Right now I can't try your suggestion, but will do this evening. Thanks for your help!

If you didn't you need to run python-updater and it will rebuild anything that got broke from the upgrade.

Hi all,
thanks for your help, I did in fact not run pthon-update...I suppose some message about this was displayed during the emerge, but it probably went by without me noticing it as there were a couple of packages to emerge. So I just rebuilt libxml2 and libxslt and am compiling kdebase (hopefully) succesfull right now. Also I'm going to do the python-update afterwards.
