Balsa doesn't work, please help!

Hi all, I've recently installed Basla 2.09 and I'm getting problems trying to acces my IMAP mailboxes. I login correctly (I'm using ssl over imap and courier as the server) and I can see some dirs and messages in the mailbox, but after a very short time, I simply get disconnected with a strange "SSL failed negotiation message" and can't access the mailboxes anymore. Anybody has a clue?? I'm sure it's not a server problem because I don't get any problems with mozilla mail, outlook, kmail, sylpheed etc.

I will like to use balsa because it is GTK-2.0, and therefore, I don't have to install GTK1 libraries needed for sylpheed.

P.D.: Tried this with other versions of balsa with the same results.
