|
|
Im a linux newbie so im sorry if this question is silly.
I just installed gentoo, but for some reason im unable to login as root using the su - command.
If i press ALT + F2 or seomthing and open a new terminal, then im able to login. If i log out of the username i am using, i can relogin as root. But i am unable to use 'su -' or 'su'
What could be wrong?
Also could someone tell me how i change my screen resolution. Is it possible to change screen resolution even if all you are running is command line linux?
Thanks guys |

Maybe su is restricted for normal users in the sudoers file in /etc? _________________ Power is about what you can control. Freedom is about what you can unleash. |

This must be one of the most commonly asked questions. See this FAQ: Why can't I su to root?
