Tried to set up a MySQL installation to only accept connections from a certain netblock today, and it's completely ignoring tcp-wrappers. After investigating further, it appears that the ebuild disables all support for tcp-wrappers. I know this didn't used to be the case, but I can't find any entries in the changelog that would indicate why.
I suppose I'll have to set up users with the IP field set, and use that way, but I would rather block all connections before they reach the login stage. Does anyone know if there's a good reason for the removal of tcp-wrappers? _________________ Gentoo:
