| I've been looking at the HPET option in kernel 2.6.14.2. I have it turned on right now (it said it was harmless to do so even if your system doesn't have this particular hardware)...but I don't know if any of my machines have this particular hardware. I'd like to find out, if possible. One of my machines is an older MVP3 K6-3+ 500...since it's so old I doubt it has it. The others I wonder about though...one is a VIA EPIA C3-2 1 GHz mini-ITX system, one is an Athlon XP-M 2800+ laptop (Compaq 2108CL), and the last is a KT880 based system that currently has a Duron 750 but is slated to be upgraded to Athlon XP 3200+ when possible. If anyone knows a way to find out for sure if any of these systems have HPET so I know whether to enable it in the kernel or not, the information would be greatly appreciated. |
