I'm trying to get gentoo up on this pavilion zt1175 and I have the install going fine.
my first problem is that the console / display does not take up the full size of the screen.
my second problem is that I can only get x working in 8 bit color then it doesn't utalize the full monitor (see problem #1) and looks like crap.
I wen't to the savage web page and got drivers for the video card but those did no good seeing as how when I try to run the ./install.sh script it says I need to have xfree86 installed. but I do.
any help with this would be appriciated. |

Hi,
I have the zt1175, too. Right now, I'm using xfree 4.2.1. For the video driver, I'm using the one found here. Installation was a snap. Just follow the instructions. Note that a couple of extra libraries are needed - search for gentoo on the web page. If you want the X config file, I can provide that, when I get back to the laptop. If you have any questions, let me know! |
