At first I thought this must be a baselayout-1.12.0_pre11-r3 problem, but a lot of tests with 2.6.14.2, 2.6.15_rc2 and 2.6.15_rc3 show that it is definitely 2.6.15_rc3 which hangs when rebooting or shutting down - requiring a reset..

Would appreciate confirmation asap from anyone else running this version on x86 (Pentium4)..

Mvh

I can't exit X with rc3 (x86 pentium-m), display goes black and I've to reset. /var/log/messages shows a kernel BUG in rmap.c (from an nvidia call). I've tried rc4 just now and it seems to work well just as rc2 (which I've been running for two weeks without any problem). It seems that they've messed a little with memory management in rc3. Give a try to rc4.

To be honest, I'm getting this message
Code:
Dec  2 00:27:17 sotomayor X does an incomplete pfn remapping [<c0145bd9>] incomplete_pfn_remap+0x89/0x100
Dec  2 00:27:17 sotomayor [<f9656c4d>] nv_kern_mmap+0x4f1/0x53e [nvidia]
Dec  2 00:27:17 sotomayor [<c0149057>] do_mmap_pgoff+0x457/0x7b0
Dec  2 00:27:17 sotomayor [<c0108283>] sys_mmap2+0x83/0xe0
Dec  2 00:27:17 sotomayor [<c0102d1b>] sysenter_past_esp+0x54/0x75

but it doesn't seem to cause problems.
