I have an ATI all in wonder 9200 and i'm having a heck of a time getting any video (tvtime, xawtv) to work on this machine. I have video for linux as a module but can't seem to load it.

I get the usual can't open /dev/video0: no such device error
xawtv -hwscan gives me
port 59-59
type: Xvideo, image scaler
name: ATI Radeon Video Overlay

Any ideas here folks?

Dave

Try to emerge "ati-gatos", then add the gatos drivers path to your xorg.conf.
In this way you'd be able to view (but not to capture).

Using the forum search engine, with "gatos" as keyword, you'll find a lot of discussions ;)

I'm pretty good at this kind of stuff, but I'm unable to get this working. I have won a support tv card off of ebay that has drivers for it in linux. I'm going to go that route.
