hello there...could someone tell me where i can see what permissions each group listed in /etc/groups has?? i mean when a user belongs to a specific group what he can do...thanks...

The ultimate answer is not to have the question at all. You do this by creating a simple file structure and assign permissions based on that structure. For example:
/groups/sales/ (only accessible by sales group)
/groups/marketing/ (only accessible by marketing group)
/groups/marketing/management (only accessible by marketing managers)
/home/username (only accessible by username)
/public (publicly shared data) _________________ While your waiting for your post to be answered, please help with unanswered posts. |
