OK guys,
I just succeed to run Dreamweaver on my GentooBox, but, (you knew it, huh, that there'll be a but ), I got one bug so far.
First what I did.
I just emerged the latest stable build for my arch (AMD64) : wine-20050725-r1
then, as the dreamweaver installer crashed whatever I did, I copied the installation directory from a fresh install from a WinXP computer
(the whole Macromedia dir, which contains Dreamweaver and Extension Manager)
to my Wine directory ( ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files).
By the way I use WinXP emul as the install was made on a winxp.
And now, when I try
Code: | wine .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver\ 8/Dreamweaver.exe |
It does work, everything seems fine so far, except one "essential thing" : Creating a new website in the website manager.
(as i use the french version pf dw, i don't know the right label, but, ...nevermind)
So when I do :
-> Manage website
-> New website
DW freezes, and on the console, it says :
Code: | err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateWindow invalid window height -2
err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {a9e69610-b80d-11d0-b9b9-00a0c922e750} not registered
err:ole:create_server class {a9e69610-b80d-11d0-b9b9-00a0c922e750} not registered |
So I thought it might be the ole library, but I just don't have any f*** idea on how to handle it. Can I change this library ? How ? |

Well, I upgraded to Wine-20050930 and it works, it's still a bit buggy, but it seems to work.
[edit] I still have the same error but dreamweaver don't crash...it works |

I reply to myself :
you can't expect to work with that method, 'cause it's so buggy you'll become crazy.
A better way is to use Qemu with Win2K and Dreamweaver. (With WinXP it's too slow, but with Win2K it's slow but workable).
Install a FTP server on your gentoobox and use only Dreamweaver in Qemu. |
