Hi,
I'm running an IPW2200 802.11b/g card in a ThinkPad x40 and for the most part it's working great.
The thing is, since a recent upgrade to IPW2200-1.0.8, the ability to connected to wireless networks running on channels above 11 seems to have disappeared. Running 'iwlist eth1 scan' detects networks running on channels above 11, but the card now refuses to connect to them.
Any ideas on how to re-enable this?
I'm running:
net-wireless/ipw2200-1.0.8-r1
net-wireless/ieee80211-1.1.6
sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.6.14-r2
And have disabled kernel support for the wifi card/802.11 stack in favour of the more recent versions available in portage.
Code: | tarkin ~ # iwlist eth1 channel
Warning: Driver for device eth1 has been compiled with version 19
of Wireless Extension, while this program supports up to version 17.
Some things may be broken...
eth1 11 channels in total; available frequencies :
Channel 01 : 2.412 GHz
Channel 02 : 2.417 GHz
Channel 03 : 2.422 GHz
Channel 04 : 2.427 GHz
Channel 05 : 2.432 GHz
Channel 06 : 2.437 GHz
Channel 07 : 2.442 GHz
Channel 08 : 2.447 GHz
Channel 09 : 2.452 GHz
Channel 10 : 2.457 GHz
Channel 11 : 2.462 GHz
Current Channel:5 |
Thanks in advance.. _________________ It's fine. I didn't want to go. I'm just going to go home, lie down and listen to country and western. The music of pain. |
