Hello,
My network is obviously down
I have only a 2005.1-r1 install cd on hand
How to emerge dhcpcd from that install cd from disfiles? _________________ 鬼話 |

Also I should mention even though I set PKGDIR to /mnt/cdrom or /mnt/cdrom/distfiles it tries to go to the net to get it and fails. _________________ 鬼話 |

mount you cdrom to a mount point
then copy the tar.bz file from the cd to your /usr/portage/distfiles
change your PKGDIR back to where it was..
As long as you have the correct file copied it will find it - if it is a older version that your portage is looking for you could boot from the live CD, mount your /mnt/gentoo direcroy and using links you can find the correct file on the internet, download it to your /mnt/gentoo/usr/portage/distfiles directory..
Or you could try emerge =thecorrectversionforyourebuild _________________ Aerosolo ergo sum - I spray therefore I am

Thanks for the reply. Also useful note is that all MD5 checksums and tar.gz files should be copied too to /usr/portage/disfiles from install cd. _________________ 鬼話 |
