Ok. One day when booting up I suddenly got this:

And now my machine can't boot.
I'm really no expert at some of the finer points of unix, like disk care or fsck. I tried a run or two but exited out when i saw that after a certain point it was reporting every second sectorr as damaged and i had no ide wheather it was damaging the hard drive as it went along or not
I really don't know what to do if anything
time to get a new hard drive?

Check out this post and afterwards in the thread. Also as mentioned in the thread there are many accounts of this type of error in the forums. I strongly suggesting searching and reading many of them.
