How do I change this?

When I send mail from pine, it says From: "(My Name) username@machinename"

Where the user and machine name are my machine, and my username on my machine.

This machine is, on purpose, not set up to recieve external mail - I need to change this value somehow, but can't find it in the configs.

Any ideas?

modify your .pinerc to have something like this:
Code:

# Only show these headers (by default) when composing messages
default-composer-hdrs=
from:

# Add these customized headers (and possible default values) when composing
customized-hdrs=from:,
        mailto:<user@domain>,
        reply-to: <user@domain>

now, if you want to modify your fields, hit ctrl-r (you have to enable this too!)..

play around with your settings in pine if this doesnt make much sense. The trick is that you need to modify more than one field :-)
