I am trying to figure out how to make GAIM go to the panel. I know it can be done because on my RHEL setup it does it by default. Anyone know what I am missing?
Ok realized I needed to add a "Notification Area" to my menu bar.

Activate the "System Tray" plugin that comes with gaim by default.
Then try hitting the X close button on your buddy list, and all you will see is the gaim icon wherever your tray is.
Hope that helps. |

I have that checked. It still just closes the program. |
